Pitaya, the authentic, Thai, fast-casual restaurant group has launched in London’s Covent Garden. This marks the first UK site for the world renowned restaurant group.
When you walk through the doors of a Pitaya restaurant, you’re immediately enveloped by the scents of the products sizzling in the wok and the spectacle of the chefs working over the flames. Focused and passionate, they reproduce traditional recipes which offer that special Thai flavour which you can only find on the streets of Bangkok.
The menu at Pitaya features well balanced dishes made with fresh locally sourced vegetables, fish and halal meat which arrive from wok to plate in minutes.
Pitaya was founded in Bordeaux, France in 2010 by Kadir Guglu, who has now partnered up with entrepreneur Mehdi Rizvi to bring the street food culture explored in Bangkok to London.
Pitaya restaurants offer a real immersion into the heart of Thai street-food culture. We want to offer an invitation to travel, an escape from everyday.
Pitaya sits on the Strand, a stone’s throw from Charing Cross station and bang in the middle of the theatre district, making it a perfect spot for not only take away and delivery but also an ideal location for pre and post theatre dining.
Guests are welcomed to sample signature Pitaya dishes inspired by the street food in Bangkok such as Yellow Curry made with chicken, green curry with coconut milk, Thai white rice, wok-fried peppers, courgette, bamboo shoots and Thai chives or Bo Bun Thai made with beef marinated in lemongrass stir fried in a wok with cold rice vermicelli, carrots, cucumbers, bean sprouts and aromatic herbs and fried onions or the classic Pad Thai with prawns and flat rice noodles. A range of vegetarian dishes are available. For hungry little ones, kids can choose from the Little Pitaya Menu which features a mini bowl, classic drink and dessert.
Desserts include passion fruit cheesecake verrine and a selection of sorbets and ice-creams including dragon fruit flavour, alongside a French classic with a twist, macarons with Thai inspired flavour combinations.
