Relax and enjoy a glass of fizz with homemade food, a quintessentially English Afternoon Tea or hold your private event in the presence of Charles Dickens’ spirit at Grays & Feather wine parlour and speakeasy in Wellington Street, Covent Garden.
A mischievous new wave wine bar in the heart of Covent Garden is the home of London’s first sparkling wine specialist, Grays & Feather. Inspired by wanderlust and travel, it’s a secret oasis within which to explore and enjoy the wonderful world of bubbles and exotic sharing plates without breaking the bank.
A lair of colours and curiosities, quirky and romantic nooks and a sunken cavern with a stunning hand-painted mural of fanned feathers, it’s also unique venue for special celebrations and private events for up to 60 people.
The hand-picked wine list offers classy crémants, elegant Italian bubbles and rapidly evolving English fizz, alongside Japanese and Brazilian Bruts, Canadian cuvées, super South African Krone Borealis and an ace nutty, peppery, ripe pear and greengage-y Grüner Veltliner (representing Austria) to brighten your day. With the treasures of the wine world finally represented, who even needs Champagne?
Beers, cocktails, mocktails, soft drinks, teas and coffees complete the drinks picture all accompanied by an eclectic mix of homemade dishes, sharing plates & desserts such as babaganoush, crispy cauliflower with tahini sauce (a Dickens favourite), beef brisket cheeseburger, ponzu glazed duck breast, cheese and charcuterie sharing boards, fresh baked brownies, scones & cream and ice-cream.
The menu is ideal for: morning bubbles and cake, lunch, afternoon tea, pre & post theatre, dinner, romantic supper, a casual sharing feast with friends or simply drinks and nibbles for an after-work catch up weekend brunch. There is something for everyone, to suit all moods, in an environment that conjures an escape from the bustle on the street.
Weekly events designed for socialising, adventures, relaxation and conversation include: parlour games, cards and dice; ‘Netwining’, where people can taste wines and chat; speakers, wine tastings, winemakers’ dinners, wine tours and bigger events, all focusing on having fun, learning about and tasting the wondrous world of wine.
