In 2022, Covent Garden was the home to the Harry Potter Takeover until the 24th April 2022, as Warner Bros worked hard to bring you a world of magic in partnership with the Harry Potter Photographic Exhibition. You could explore the Piazza and discover wizarding themed interactive pop ups, and there was even the return of the Harry Potter Butterbeer Bar!
Wands were at the ready, the Covent Garden Central Avenue was the proud home to the iconic character wands from the Wizarding World. Spells were cast, and many a muggle posed for a spellbinding picture.
A favourite amongst the wizarding world, the popular Butterbeer Bar returned to the Covent Garden Piazza during this magical Easter experience. Serving the sweet treats of Chocolate Frogs and Butterbeer, the unique blend of top-secret ingredients make bottled Butterbeer a must try for any aspiring witch or wizard.
Free souvenir tankards were given to anyone who purchased a bottle of Butterbeer from the pop-up and then purchased a ticket to Covent Garden’s Harry Potter Photographic Exhibition.
Situated to the right of the Butterbeer van, you'll find the iconic trolley wall moment was located on Platform 9 3/4. It was fantastic to see so many people capturing their journey to Hogwarts with a selfie. There was also a competition for the best selfie, of which a lucky competitor won a whole host of Harry Potter goodies.
Which Hogwarts house do you belong to? In partnership with LEGO®, everyone was encouraged to sit with Harry and Hermione for a magical photo moment underneath the sorting hat.
