Wyndham's Theatre

When Wyndham’s Theatre opened in 1899, it marked the highest point in the stellar career of Covent Garden theatrical legend Charles Wyndham. Owned and built by the actor, its opening performance saw Wyndham play the role of another local legend, David Garrick, in a play of the same name.

The country’s greatest actors have continued to grace its stage. In recent years, the likes of Kenneth Branagh, Jude Law, Judi Dench, Derek Jacobi and David Tennant have all appeared in a lively programme of plays that veers between serious drama and colourful comedy.
