Rules

Rules in Covent Garden is the oldest restaurant in London and has been an established star of the food scene since the days of the Bow Street Runners, serving up classic British fare while ignoring every passing fad and fashion.

Founded by Thomas Rule in 1798, the restaurant has become famous for the gilded grandeur of its décor and the sheer quality of its game cookery, oysters, pies and puddings.

The game birds, roe deer and pedigree Belted Galloway cattle, which between them play such a prominent part on the menu, are all sourced from Rules’ own estate in the Pennines.
