The Ivy

The Ivy in Covent Garden is something of an icon on London’s dining scene and a uniquely British institution known throughout the world.

An acclaimed refurbishment in 1990 gave The Ivy its distinctive look – oak panelling, stained glass and site-specific commissions from leading contemporary artists – and recast it as the grand restaurant of its early-20th century heyday.

The Ivy is a favourite with the pre and post theatre crowd and attracts a devoted clientele from the arts and the media. Diners come for unmatchable service, the atmosphere of intimacy and privacy afforded by its Director, Fernando Peire.

The restaurant's brasserie-style menu offers dishes from around the world such as sashimi and Thai-baked sea bass. British favourites include Dover sole, roasts and the famous shepherd's pie, simply but beautifully cooked from the best ingredients.

The Ivy's set menu (2 courses from £21.75 and 3 courses for £26.25 including cover) is available from Tuesday to Thursday from 12 noon to 6.15pm and after 10pm, and all day Sunday and Monday.

Post-theatre diners can leave their car at The Ivy from 6.30pm and pick it up after dinner at the restaurant. Valet parking costs £15.
