We are getting ready to welcome you back to Covent Garden, it hasn’t been the same without you.

When you come back to Covent Garden, it might look a bit different. We have reshaped the experience for a safer environment for the entire neighbourhood. Whenever you are ready to visit, Covent Garden will be ready to welcome you.


 

A NEW WAY TO NAVIGATE 

We have implemented a one way system in the Market Building, watch out for the floor markings which will help guide you around.

HELPFUL HYGIENE 

Around the Piazza and the Market Building you will see a number of hand sanitiser stations which you will be welcome to use.

Covent Garden has a team of cleaners who will be on hand daily cleaning up the area, paying extra attention to high touch areas. 

The Covent Garden cleaning and security teams will all be provided with task specific PPE.


 

MORE SPACE 

The following streets will be pedestrianised to the following hours 11am – 11pm to enable you to enjoy Covent Garden in a safe, socially distanced manner.

SPACE TO SIT

On the East Piazza you will discover a new seating area in Covent Garden, which have been placed at least two metres apart. These seats will be cleaned multiple times per day and the area will be deep cleaned regularly too.

There are bins in place for all your rubbish and hand santising stations placed around the seating area.

The seating area will be open from 11am until 8pm daily. 

 

 


 

SHOPPING

Next time you visit your favourite Covent Garden shop, watch out for each store’s own guidelines which they have put in place. It is likely that you will have to queue or wait a short time before entering the store.

We also ask that should you need to queue, please queue to the left of the store. There will be markers on the floor to guide you. 

Please note, the opening times of shops have changed. Please check with your favourite brands before visiting.

GETTING HERE

Whenever you are ready to visit Covent Garden you should monitor government guidance on travel, but be advised there are multiple ways to access Covent Garden on foot from central London.

 

ON FOOT

The best way to get to Covent Garden and discover the area is to walk. To find out the best route for you, visit Google Maps 

Covent Garden is a 5 minute walk from Charing Cross and a 10 minute walk from Waterloo Train Stations. 

 

BY BIKE

There are bike racks in Southampton Street, Bow Street, and on the corner of Russell Street & Wellington Street.

Did you know that Covent Garden is only a 15 minute bike ride from Hyde Park, 5 minute cycle from Waterloo, 15 minutes from Kings Cross, 20 minutes from Hoxton Square, 30 minutes from Victoria Park, 30 minutes from Clapham Common, 30 minutes from Fulham. TAKE IT TO GO

A number of the Covent Garden restaurants have been working on new ways to share their incredible menus with you. Whether it be with new delivery services, a mini market or take away menu we have ensured when you do visit there will be somewhere outside for you to sit and enjoy a tea and macaron, a coffee and custard tart, an ice cream or more.

Q: Where can I buy a mask in Covent Garden?

A: Brora, Lacoste, Boots, Kurt Geiger and a number of stores in Covent Garden are selling face masks. Find out more here 

Q: Have store opening hours changed in Covent Garden?
A: All retailers set their own opening and closing times so visitors are advised to check times before they arrive.

Q: How often is Covent Garden cleaned?
A: Covent
Garden is regularly cleaned every day, with additional cleaners on site 24 hours a day to support the local Westminster City Council cleaning programme too.

Q: Are the toilets open? 

A: 2theloo is open in the Market Building. The toilets under St Paul's church are openned and manned by Carlisle Support Services

Q: When will the street performers return?

A: We do not currently have a date, please stay tuned for further updates. 

Q: When will the Apple Market open? 

A: The antiques market has returned on a Monday and the crafts market is now open Saturday to Sunday
