Burro is the first solo venture from Conor Gadd, Chef Co-Owner of Islington’s beloved Italian restaurant Trullo. Celebrating the core principles of Italian cooking, generosity, care and exceptional ingredients, the menu follows the classic four-course Italian structure. Guests can expect dishes such as Venetian chicken livers on toast, Mozzarella with marinated corno peppers and black olive pangrattato, and tumbling plates of pasta including Strozzapreti all’amatriciana. Larger plates showcase British meat and fish, from Braised beef shin with polenta and cicoria to Brill with courgette scapece, basil and aioli. Desserts keep things classic and comforting, with Tiramisu bombolone and Almond cake served with crème fraîche and a glass of Marsala.
Conor Gadd comments “Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine opening a restaurant in Covent Garden. But as soon as I saw the room - and the courtyard - I knew it was an opportunity I couldn’t miss. Now seeing the restaurant open in all its glory, it's been great to welcome guests with amazing food, wine and service in our elegant dining room. We sit alongside a plethora of other fantastic restaurants and hope to be a spot to welcome guests for a number of different occasions”
