Gillian Lynne Theatre

The Gillian Lynne Theatre made history when it became the first ever venue on the West End to be named after a woman. The re-naming in 2018 was in honour of Dame Gillian Lynne's contribution to musical theatre as choreographer, most notably for Cats.

Formerly called the New London theatre, the Gillian Lynne theatre has made history for not only being named after a woman, but also the collection of outstanding productions to take to the stage throughout the years. The theatre's most notable production is Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cats which ran for 21 years and ended in 2002. The theatre is also known for its innovation and reinvention, with War Horse and School of Rock in recent years.
