Opened in 2015, after the success of the St James outpost, Angela Hartnett’s Cafe Murano Covent Garden is Michelin-starred Murano’s relaxed little sister. Inspired by Hartnett’s own Italian heritage and serving a menu with a strong Northern Italian focus, Cafe Murano draws inspiration from the area’s different regions, including Emilia Romagna and Piemonte.
The main restaurant is a great place to enjoy an aperitivo and some cichetti including truffle arancini and salt cod fritters. There is also a private dining room available for larger group bookings.
The menus, which include a set lunch menu, an a la carte menu and both pre and post theatre dining, are created by Hartnett, Executive Chef Samantha Williams and Head Chef Adam Jay.
Seasonal dishes include Spring lamb shoulder, pappardelle, wild garlic, spring onions and Hake, mussel, samphire, spring onion, spinach & datterini. All of the pasta is made daily on site at the adjacent Pastificio, a pasta factory, deli and wine shop, with wines chosen by Shoreditch wine suppliers, Passione Vino.
Cafe Murano regularly hosts Regional Supper Clubs which are often hosted by Hartnett, pasta masterclasses and Meet the Winemaker events. Please check the website for more details of upcoming events.
