ECCO

ECCO creates high quality and high performance footwear, and also sells range of other products like insoles, laces and shoe polish. ECCO is an innovative footwear brand and over many years has been at the top of the footwear industry for everyday outdoor and leisure designs. Based on Long Acre in Covent Garden, ECCO is only a stone’s throw away from London’s West End and Leicester Square underground station.

ECCO are guided by respect for their heritage, their call for innovation and their quest for excellence. Creating and maintaining strong, positive relationships with their colleagues, partners and customers, and in the societies in which we live and work, is at the core of the footwear brand.

The company was founded in 1963 by Birte and Karl Toosbuy. Trained as a shoemaker, Karl Toosbuy had a dream to own a shoe factory and run his own business. Therefore, the family decided to give up the security of regular jobs, sell their home, and move to Bredebro in southwest Denmark – just north of the German border. Innovation is a cornerstone in ECCO. They are constantly seeking to disrupt and provide improvements for the footwear and leather industry. To ECCO, innovation is all about defining new standards.

Since ECCO started its first production facility in Denmark, they has expanded steadily. Today, ECCO factories are operated in 6 locations across the globe, delivering millions of premium quality shoes to their customers. Unique to the footwear industry, ECCO also owns and operates their own tanneries. ECCO’s four tanneries deliver leather not only to ECCO shoes and accessories, but to some of the world’s iconic luxury brands.
