Pineapple Shop

Back in 1979 at the height of disco fever, Debbie Moore launched the very first Pineapple logo street sweats, trackpants and t-shirts which were the start of her much acclaimed, global best-selling streetwear range. Gathering momentum in 1980, Debbie took her cue from the dancers who used safety pins to pull necklines down and cut the leg-lines higher in the unflattering nylon leotards - all that was available at the time.

The dancers styled their look with unique customisation, giving a rag-bag style of layers they could both dance in and go on to the pub or out dancing after class, giving Debbie her second lightbulb moment.

Realising that garments with stretch were so much more comfortable for outerwear, and nothing like this was available at the time, Debbie developed cotton-lycra with Dupont, trade-marking the soft stretch fabric only used in corsetry at the time and launching the Pineapple black lycra lifestyle lived by us all still to this day.
