The Petersham in Covent Garden invites you to its elegant dining room. The Italian-inspired restaurant from Petersham Nurseries will welcome diners for dining throughout the day and a new afternoon tea to raise funds for the Nurseries’ partnership with the 1000 Bamboo Villages charity, drawing on the spices and aromatics of Indonesia.
Surrounded by interiors reflecting the Boglione family’s passion for contemporary art and Murano glassware, the menu begins with lobster with bagna cauda and artichoke salad, or roasted pigeon with blue cheese, chestnuts and leeks. The primi features a choice of carnaroli risotto with cavolo nero, capers and langoustine, or hand-rolled pasta made with foraged ingredients: duck plin with wild mushrooms and a fennel and porcini broth. Mains include perfectly roasted duck with radicchio tardivo and orange, and halibut with grilled fennel, potato and lemongrass.
For dessert, there’s a fragrant chestnut and pear mousse, or indulgent date and toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream, followed by a cheese course of Gilt and Flint stout cake with Stichelton and damson paste to conclude the dinner. The Petersham will also feature a heated winter terrace, decorated with wild winter floral displays, and with chairs draped in blankets and sheepskins to keep guests cosy and warm as they sip on seasonal cocktails.
