Owned by a Portuguese family of second-generation bakers and named after the home of the original Pastel de Nata, from the parish of Santa Maria de Belém in Lisbon, the ethos is simple. Santa Nata specialises in one hero product – authentic Portuguese custard tarts.
Santa Nata’s bakers have perfected the closely guarded recipe to ensure the perfectly sweet creamy egg custard is nestled in crisp layers of the flakiest, buttery pastry. Enjoy like a Lisboeta with freshly ground coffee, Port or Ginjinha, a traditional sour cherry liqueur at perfectly complements the sweet tart.
Stand at the counter and eat warm Pastéis de Nata, dusted with a little ground cinnamon or icing sugar whilst, on the other side of the glass, master pastry chefs work their magic; delicately rolling, shaping and filling.
Tarts continuously come out of the oven, so no matter what time you stop in, there will always be a fresh, warm tarts to eat-in or take away.
