Wyndham's Theatre

Wyndham's opened in November of 1899 with a revival of David Garrick by T W Robertson in which theatre owner Charles Wyndham and his future wife, Mary Moore, both appeared. Wyndham's is one of the two West End theatres opened by the actor and manager.

Wyndham’s theatre welcomed its first long-running production, Sandy Wilson’s musical The Boyfriend, in 1959. Originally a small-scale musical pastiche, the musical ran for over 2000 performances before transferring to Broadway.

The theatre has played host to many notable actors, including Alec Guinness, Vanessa Redgrave, Diana Rigg and Madonna and in recent years has welcomed many iconic productions including Life of Pi, which transferred from Sheffield Theatres and went on to win 5 Olivier awards.
