Wizarding World with a series of Harry Potter installations this Easter, including a giant walkthrough immersive wand installation and pop up Butterbeer van selling chocolate frogs and bottled Butterbeer.
● Aspiring witches and wizards can visit the LEGO® life-size sorting hat chair to find out their
Hogwarts wizarding House.
● Visitors can take part in an Easter egg hunt from luxury chocolatiers Godiva to find luxury golden
eggs hidden across the estate.
● Chocoholics can also purchase endless treats from brands including Blondies, Ladurée and
chocolatiers Venchi, Neuhaus, Godiva and Hotel Chocolat.
● Serving up the best of Spring dining, visitors can enjoy a variety of must-visit al fresco drinking
and dining spots as well as enjoy exclusive Easter menus and dishes from Balthazar, Shake
Shack, The Ivy Market Grill, Frenchie and more Covent Garden is the perfect place to celebrate and spend time with friends and loved ones this Easter.
Throughout April the estate will welcome a host of activities, including an extraordinary enchanting pop up from Harry Potter and LEGO®, an exclusive Easter egg hunt with Godiva and a variety of must-visit al fresco drinking and dining options.
In celebration of Covent Garden’s magical Harry Potter Photographic Exhibition, the estate will
welcome a selection of enchanting and immersive installations from 8th - 24th April. From 10am-6pm daily, willing wizards can sit on a LEGO® brick-built sorting hat chair to discover their wizarding house.
London Muggles can unleash their imagination and discover the Wizarding World walk-through Wand installation in the Market Building’s Central Avenue where they can walk through 15-foot wands towering overhead for the ultimate photo moment, with each wand representing a different character in the Harry Potter and the Fantastic Beasts films, including Harry Potter and Newt Scamander. Guests can also enjoy a number of other spellbinding moments, such as seeking out the Wizarding World Platform 9 ¾ Trolley and recreating the lead up to Harry’s first journey on the Hogwarts Express, taking themselves through moments of the films with the interactive Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Magical Portrait Wall and visiting the exclusive Butterbeer Bar. There they can treat themselves to bottled Butterbeer and Chocolate Frogs, with each delicious solid milk chocolate frog coming in an ornately decorated pentagonal box with a wizard card. Free souvenir tankards will be offered to anyone who purchases a bottle of Butterbeer from the pop-up and buys a ticket to Covent Garden’s Harry Potter Photographic Exhibition.
Chocolatier Godiva will host an Easter egg hunt across the Covent Garden estate on the 16th and 17th April. During the event, participants will have the chance to find luxury golden eggs hidden across the estate, and the 20 lucky winners who discover one will be able to take the empty golden eggs to the Godiva store to be filled with chocolate.
Covent Garden will also offer a number of masterclasses across the Easter break. On Easter Sunday VyTA will be hosting an exclusive masterclass on how to make and decorate the perfect chocolate Easter egg, budding artists can let out their inner Picasso and get creative with decorations for just £30 per person. Guests can also join the masters at Petersham Nurseries on 16th April for an exclusive floristry workshop or La Goccia for a pasta-making workshop on the 19th April.
During Easter, families can also make the most of Covent Garden’s al fresco dining, with over 1000 seats spanning across over 55 restaurants, and 6 streets as well as the Piazza, with the majority offering weatherproof drinking and dining for visitors, with heaters, lighting, large parasols and windbreak screens. Over the Easter weekend, Easter edition menus and dishes will be available at a range of Covent Garden dining destinations including Shake Shack, Avo Bar and Sushi Samba. Over the Easter weekend, The Ivy Market Grill will be offering a special egg inspired dessert, L’Oeuf De Paques, a white chocolate shell served with a mango and passionfruit yolk whilst Balthazar will have a bespoke Easter menu as well live entertainment and Frenchie’s head chef has curated a set menu, as well as a five course tasting menu with a selection of nibbles to start and petit fours to finish. Visitors can enjoy a range of day to night dining options whilst in the area, highlights include breakfast and brunch at Lilly’s Café at 3 Henrietta, delicious afternoon tea from Mariage Freres and Petersham Nurseries or lunch and dinner at Cora Pearl, Ave Mario, The Oystermen and more.
For chocoholics, a selection of sweet treats are available across the estate. Blondies will be offering Easter weekend exclusives including delicious giant cookies filled with Cadbury Mini Eggs, Creme Eggs and Malteaser bunnies. Visitors looking to indulge in style can go to Ladurée, Neuhaus, or Hotel Chocolat, whilst Godiva will be offering a free egg when shoppers spend over £75. Those wanting to opt for a sustainable egg can visit Chocolatier Venchi who is striving to produce the best solution for sustainable packaging on the market.
Parents looking to entertain children during the Easter holidays can head to Covent Garden for a variety of activities. Culture seekers should visit London Transport Museum’s latest exhibition, Lost and Found, which is running from 2nd - 18th April, exploring the weird and wonderful world of London Transport's Lost Property Office. Families can follow a trail around the museum's galleries to discover fun facts about objects past and present that have been lost and found on London’s tubes, trains and buses. Guests can also join children’s authors Emily Rand and Kate Wilkinson as they read from their books inspired by these lost mementoes.
