The brand new Shake Shack in Covent Garden’s Market Building (the first outpost in Europe) has been an instant hit with foodies. You’ll see them waiting in line for a ShackBurger, SmokeShack, ‘Shroom Burger or Shack-cago Dog and a signature shake or concrete (frozen custard blended with mix-ins).
Most ingredients are UK-sourced and the two seating areas – underneath the vast, vaulted atrium of Covent Garden's Market Building and outside between the columns on the South Piazza – have been constructed using reclaimed Victorian pine and bowling alley lanes.
Four-legged friends are even welcome at Shake Shack in Covent Garden. The ‘Woof’ section of the menu includes a Pooch-ini, a sweet treat made from vanilla frozen custard, peanut butter sauce and Red Velvet dog biscuits.
Shake Shack started life as a modern-day American roadside burger stand in New York’s Madison Square Park back in 2004. Its burgers, flat-top dogs, frozen custard and extensive drinks list quickly gained cult status with queues round the block.
