Godiva

Godiva Chocolatier was founded in 1926 in Brussels, Belgium, by master chocolatier Pierre Draps and was named in honor of the legend of Lady Godiva.

As a leading producer and seller of premium chocolate, Godiva’s legacy is built around the story of a Belgian family whose passion for chocolate remains at the heart of the company. Godiva’s products are created by five expert Chef Chocolatiers who are based across the US, Belgium, China and Japan. Belgian in origin but uniquely Godiva in execution, Godiva chocolate consists of exquisitely balanced elements of aroma, flavor and texture.

As the success of Godiva grew in Belgium, the Draps family sought to expand the company across Europe. In 1958, the first boutique opened in Paris, amid the glamorous fashion stores of Rue St-Honoré. A decade later, after becoming increasingly synonymous with quality Belgian chocolate, Godiva was named an official chocolatier to the Royal Court of Belgium.

Today Godiva is available from Belgium to Singapore, from Denver to Dubai, making the Godiva brand known - and loved – the world-over. Godiva has a global retail presence through company owned and operated stores, as well as, through franchise and licensing agreements and global travel retail.

Godiva, in Covent Garden's Market Building, is a top-drawer purveyor of indulgent, premium chocolates. Everyone knows that Belgian chocolates are superior, and Godiva, is the cream of the crop.
