Join us Thursday 12th November for the annual Christmas Lights Switch On in Covent Garden. Experience our world-famous Christmas lights illuminate the Piazza and surrounding neighbourhood as we kickstart the season with 'The Theatre of Christmas'.

Christmas in Covent Garden returns this November
On Thursday 12th of November, Covent Garden will commence its 2026 festive season with its annual switch-on event. Expect over 300,000 sparkling lights twinkling throughout the neighbourhood, the return of the much-loved gold bells, mirror balls and baubles adorning the Market Building, and the return of the iconic British-grown Christmas tree on the West Piazza.
The Theatre of Christmas will also be returning to the heart of London’s theatreland for 2026. The seven-week celebration, inspired by Covent Garden’s rich theatrical heritage, will invite visitors to step behind the curtain and enter a world of West End magic.
DRINK & DINE
Pivot Bar & Bistro - perfect for a direct view of the Christmas tree, diners will receive a complimentary bottle of wine or prosecco for groups of 4+ dining from the festive menu. Groups under 4, will receive a complimentary glass of wine, prosecco or mulled wine
Chez Antoinette - one complimentary glass of spiced mulled wine per guest when dining from the Main Menu or Pre-Theatre Menu.
ADOH! - a complimentary glass of sparkling for diners who quote "Covent Garden Light Switch-On'.
Story Cellar - launching on 12th November dig into the Festive Turkey Sandwich, available dine-in or takeaway.
London Transport Museum Cafe - free hot drink with any cake for the whole day.

Saint + Sofia - champagne while you shop and explore the latest collection.
Aesop - you're invited to Aesop Covent Garden for an exclusive shopping evening. Over abundant wine and cheese, consultants will be on hand to guide you through the distinctly sensorial formulations and exclusive limited-edition gift sets, until 8pm.
